Extended Day Services

Extended Day Services (EDS) was designated by DISD to assist the working parent. We offer before and after-school programs.

Applications are made available throughout the year to all children enrolled at  Joseph J. Rhoads Learning Center.

The EDS program fills up quickly. If your registration form is received after the program reaches capacity, your child’s name will be placed on a waiting list in the order that it was received.     

Coding- Scratch Jr.

100% of students have access to individual iPads and work on coding and creation for at least 1 hour per week. This time is built into the daily schedule.

STEAM Programming

100% of students have access to engineering, science, math, and technology in our campus STEAM Room for at least 1 hour per week. This time is built into the daily schedule.  

Self-Care and Health Lessons

100% of students have access to health lessons presented by the school nurse for at least  30 minutes bi-weekly. This time is built into the daily schedule.    

SEL Lessons

100% of students have access to Social Emotional Regulation lessons presented by the school counselor at least  30 minutes bi-weekly. This time is built into the daily schedule.
